North Queensland

This part of Australia covers an area from Cape York in the north to Mackay in the south to Mount Isa in the west. The crisp and tinder dry winter months of June&July with temperatures in the mid 20s and cool nights are progressively replaced by spring followed by the steaming hot summer months from December to March. With temperatures steady in the low to mid 30s and humidity close to 100%, we evaporate into the fragrant relief of the velvety tropical night, frequent violent electrical storms and torrential rainfall.

NQ is home to two World Heritage listed natural attractions: Tropical Rain Forests and the Great Barrier Reef which combine with fringing picture-postcard beaches and several hundred tropical islands to create a modern Garden of Eden.
